Sedalia Business Women announced their 2018 Woman of the Year and 2018 Business of the year at the public relations dinner, November 1.

Lori Haney, Woman of the Year Committee chair presented the Woman of the Year honorsĀ  to Michelle Sparks. Michelle received this award for her outstanding service to the community and to both Sedalia Business Women and Business Women of Missouri. Her nomination form can be found under Special Recognition/Woman of the Year.

Carol Sawyer, chair of the Business of the Year Committee, presented the 2018 award to State Fair Community College. Dr. Joanna Anderson accepted the award on behalf of the college. The college recently celebrated its 50-year anniversary. Originally dubbed “Plywood U,” the college now has a beautiful campus in Sedalia. Today, SFCC serves more than 12,000 students through its sites in Sedalia, Warsaw, Lake of the Ozarks, Eldon, Clinton, Whiteman Air Force Base, Boonville, and online.

The club welcomed Business Women of Missouri state president, Debra Saffer, who gave an update on state events.

The club completed its Service Project and a check was presented to Betty Albrecht.
