President Donna Hirner Gardner reported that the deadline for committee chair reports for BWM awards are due March 1. Reports should be submitted to Donna by February 22 from the mentoring chair, legislation chair, and issues management chair.
Lori Haney presented proposed revisions to the Sedalia Business Women’s bylaws. She will distribute the bylaws electronically to the members for a vote.
The January dinner meeting was under the direction of the Membership Committee, Julie Slocum, chair.
Julie gave the membership copies of “Ten Great Reason to be a Business Women of Missouri Member!” She asked members to tell what they liked about being a SBW member. The responses were varied, but it is obvious that SBW members like to contribute to the community, enjoy the meetings, and look forward to networking with other members.
The guest speaker was Heather Lynn, 18th Circuit Manager, Children’s Division. Heather spoke about the importance of trying to keep families together, but making certain that children were in a safe environment. She talked about the need for foster homes from small kids to teenagers. Also, needed are third party person to review the care provided in the foster homes.

President Donna announced that the Northwest Inspirational Breakfast will be held March 16th at the Sedalia Country Club.
