The 40&#215;30 oil painting on masonite in a Louis XV-style parcel gilt and antique white painted frame, is based on a campaign photo of Ms. Palmer taken in 1958. Once completed, it hung in the headquarters of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women in Washington, D.C., before NFBPW gifted the painting to Pettis County in April-1991, in honor of Hazel\u2019s esteemed career and accomplishments as a female trailblazer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2100\" height=\"1400\" src=\"http:\/\/sedaliabwm.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0097.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5141\" srcset=\"http:\/\/sedaliabwm.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0097.jpg 2100w, http:\/\/sedaliabwm.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0097-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2100px) 100vw, 2100px\" \/><figcaption>Hazel Palmer 1903-2002 <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time the portrait was gifted to Pettis County, Hazel was 88 years old and resided at the Kensington-Bothwell, which was a senior living facility at that time. When Hazel died in May-2002 at the age of 98, her portrait had hung in the courthouse for several years until it was moved to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PettisCoMuseum\/?__cft__%5b0%5d=AZWndGIWfWfMMJSr8prtI9xFVxolUGF29CuvcjvCcBOu4SiUir6LGlBfB0xaWLA4iLygcJ3Dyr1IR2RN_ubKBbbLmswak5JO6G1NHU9cww0QZC3_wvSTM359l0BRkAhZ7e8&amp;__tn__=kK-R\">Pettis County Historical Society &amp; Museum<\/a> in the mid-2000s, along with artifacts from the courthouse lobby. The portrait was on display at the museum until returning to the courthouse Saturday, March 25, 2003.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Members of the Sedalia Business Women and the Business Women of Missouri were acknowledged.
