President Michelle Franklin called the meeting to order. Following the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Club Collect, Debbie Ulmer led the invocation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The guest speaker was Carrie Scott, Assistant Financial Officer at Bothwell Regional Health Center. She has 20 years of healthcare financial experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carrie spoke about the importance of rural hospitals and how they are the cornerstones of their communities. Rural hospitals boost mortality rate by 6%. She detailed the financial challenges of rural hospitals with an increase in medical supplies coupled with the decrease in reimbursements for care provided the rural community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bothwell\u2019s clinics provide more than 30 specialties. Fifty patients are seen in one of BRHC\u2019s clinics for every hospital admission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following her presentation, Carrie answered questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"http:\/\/sedaliabwm.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0782.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6177\" srcset=\"http:\/\/sedaliabwm.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0782.jpg 1200w, http:\/\/sedaliabwm.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0782-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The finance chair, Carolyn Green presented Carrie with an honorarium which Carrie had designated for the Bothwell Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"http:\/\/sedaliabwm.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0789.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6178\" srcset=\"http:\/\/sedaliabwm.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0789.jpg 1200w, http:\/\/sedaliabwm.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0789-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carolyn Green, finance chair, presented the budged for the year, highlighting changes.
