Michelle Franklin called the September 3 meeting to order. The program was under the direction of the Communications Committee, Debbie Ulmer, chair.
The program for the evening was the annual Paddle Party which helps to fund the SBW budget. Excess funds along with the Chicken Dinner proceeds are donated back to our community.
Laurie Haney sold the paddles for the paddle party and drew the numbers to decide the winners.
Carol Sawyer, membership chair installed one new member, Lisa Martin. Her sponsor was Della Schnakenberg.
Shawna Comfort, co-chair of the Community Outreach/ Committee Café Committee, reported that on September 2, they served that SBW served the evening meal to 54 people. Members helping were Shawna Comfort, Keisha Loughman, LaSondra Marsch, and Linda Alcorn. The committee prepares and serves the meal the first Wednesday every other month.
Linda Alcorn, co-chair of the Public Relations Committee announced that Steven Sims will be the guest speaker at the November 5 SBW meeting. He is the off-season Events and Concessions Manager for the Missouri State Fair.
