President Michelle Franklin called the meeting to order. Debbie Ulmer gave the invocation which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the Club Collect. Valerie Dent introduced the guests.
The meeting was under the direction of the scholarship committee, Linda Fisher and Heather Lynn, co-chairs. Five scholarship recipients had been chosen by the committee and were present at the meeting.
The scholarship recipients are (from left to right): Erica Franklin, Kiley Sidwell, Crystal Brown, Chaundra Shults, and JoDee Lynn.
The Speakers were Amy Sawtelle and Whitney Hamilton from TRiO Student Support Services (SSS), a federally funded grant, existing to provide holistic, wrap around services to students. At SFCC, they provide support for first generation, low income, and/or disabled students as they pursue an associate’s degree, professional certificate, or vocational program. SSS remains steadfastly committed to equipping eligible students with the academic and life skills necessary to succeed and to achieve their future goals.
Carol Sawyer, membership chair, installed Faith Bemiss McKinney as a new member. Her sponsor was Jamie Anderson.
